What the Chamber of Commerce Can Offer You in 2025
We would like to invite you to join or renew your membership with the Deshler Chamber of Commerce! As a member you will have the opportunity to save on health insurance costs, credit card processing, energy costs, FedEx discounts, and more, as well as benefit from the exposure the chamber can provide. Please find attached a list of all Cost-Savings Benefits available through your membership with the Chamber.
As a member, you will have the opportunity to save on health insurance costs through Anthem’s Small Business SOCA Benefit plan and ChamberSaver Program. The SOCA Benefit Plan is a multiple employer welfare arrangement (MEWA). MEWAs allow small businesses to join together to share in the overall claims risk. By being part of a large, self-funded pool, eligible businesses have financial protection backed by Anthem’s stop loss coverage. With the ChamberSaver program, you will choose from industry-leading consumer-driven health plans to PPO plans with an extensive selection of providers. All members will have the opportunity to be featured on the Chamber’s Facebook page with an individual post featuring that business and what they have to offer. In addition to the free advertising and exposure our Facebook page will provide, you can also be included in a welcome packet that will be distributed to all new residents and businesses in Deshler. You will have the opportunity to provide any item you would like, examples being business cards, brochures, coupons, or promotional items (pens, magnets, clips, etc). For help in sourcing these items, contact chamber member, Christine Bostelman at 419-966-3098. The Chamber feels this is a great opportunity to advertise your organization and let our community know about the many resources available to them.
The Chamber is constantly pursuing new ideas to promote Deshler and Northwest Ohio’s businesses and organizations. The Chamber of Commerce sponsors community garage sales, the Legion 4th of July celebration, the Halloween parade, and a Christmas decorating contest. The Chamber gives over $600 Chamber Bucks as prizes for the Halloween parade and Christmas decorating contest which must be spent at a business which is a Chamber member, thus making your $50 membership beneficial to your business. Chamber bucks can also be purchased at The Corn City State Bank.
The Chamber gives back to the community each year by providing scholarships to graduating Patrick Henry seniors. Funding has also been provided for various community improvement projects including the Reservoir Pathway Project, Bridge Project, Deshler Ballfield Dugouts, Main Street Mural, Sufficient Grace 5K, X&A 5K, PH Levy Committee, HARC, Inc., Village Christmas lights, Art on Main, Henry Co. Fair Jr. Buyer’s Club, the new Beautification Committee, and much more.
We welcome any other suggestions or comments, which you might have. If you have been a member in the past, the Chamber certainly appreciates your commitment to the community. The Chamber board meets once a month on the third Monday at noon and we are in need of volunteers to serve on the board. All Chamber members are welcome to attend the meetings, but it is not required.
